Hazard perception test with some useful tips from our Driving Schools in Yorkshire.

The hazard perception test is unavoidable and must be taken along with your driving lessons in Yorkshire, however we can help you by giving you some very useful tips.

Firstly we are going to explain what you will have to do.

  • The point of view you will see is from the driving seat.
  • You will be shown 14 video clips and each lasts around 30 seconds to a minute long. Each clip shows driving circumstances involving other road users, this is where the hazard part comes in.
  • You must detect one hazard that may make you change speed, direction or stop in 13 of these clips.
  • One of the clips contains two hazards and will have to be detected but you don’t know which clips will contain two hazards.
  • You identify the hazards by clicking left or right on your mouse.
  • Your score ranges from 0-5 depending on how early or late you identified the hazard shown.
  • To pass the test you must score at least 44 out of a potential 75.

Our driving instructors in Yorkshire give you little tips to help you through your hazard perception test because most go through this not having a clue what to expect.

Our driving schools know what to expect and we are here to help you! You need to do your hazard perception test whilst taking your driving lessons in Yorkshire or you can’t take your practical test!

Basically the clips that you will watch will all have a few potential hazards on, however these will just stay as potential ones and you must identify the one (or two) that turn into actual hazards.

Note: no extra points will be rewarded and points will not be deducted by detecting potential hazards, so just try and focus on the hazard or hazards that develop.
