Block book driving lessons or pay as you go?

This is a debate that has been going on within the driving instructing industry for many years now and different people have different opinions on what is better to do.

When you block book driving lessons Wakefield or anywhere else in the UK, you pay up front for your driving lessons. For example you will pay for 10 driving lessons and receive them within the next few weeks. There are both advantages and disadvantages to block booking your driving lessons.

Advantages of block booking:

  • Some driving schools give discount when you block book driving lessons with them. Although this may not be a lot it's almost a loyalty bonus for booking so many driving lessons with them.
  • Block booking is also good for those people who struggle to manage their money. You hand over the money for the lessons and you can then no longer spend it! Some people who get paid monthly prefer this option. They take out a sum of money and pay for their driving lessons in advance and this works for them.

Others may be different and may not like to block book their lessons, disadvantages of block booking are:

  • Some don't like block booking driving lessons because paying for driving lessons in advance means that they can't leave their driving instructor if they wish, you must carry out the remainder of your driving lessons with them.
  • Pupils also may not like paying for driving lessons up front in case they lose their money! Although this very rarely happens pupils may not like trusting their driving instructors with large sums of money.

Whilst some like block booking driving lessons others prefer paying as they go. This means that you pay for your driving lessons as you take them and no money is given in advance.

Advantages of paying as you go:

  • Paying as you go ensures that you can change your driving instructor whenever you want. Although it's advised to find a driving instructor and stick with them, you need to make sure that you're happy with your driving tuition.
  • Another advantage for pupils on pay as you go is that if they get paid weekly you don't need to hand over almost a full weeks wage on your driving lessons! Some people prefer paying weekly and not handing large sums of money over.

There are also disadvantages of paying as you go:

  • Paying as you go may be more expensive in the long run because some driving schools only offer discount when you block book with them. Although this isn't a lot it may add up over time.

It's down to the individual which way they would rather pay on their driving lessons in Wakefield; we just outline the pros and cons of each one. Pupils have different opinions to which one suits them best and driving instructors don't mind whichever way you want to pay.
